This is a beautiful shot. I would guess you are selling a lot of these to the riding magazines, and maybe even to the riders. They are certainly worth it!
My only critique (and it's a small one) would be the cropping. I would like to see just a little bit more space above her cap and below the hooves. But that's probably from my days as a portrait photographer - always thinking about how the frame will eat a bit of the edges. I wouldn't even mention it, but you requested a critique... This and so many of your others are just plain amazing! I love looking at your work!
Thank you for your honest feedback, it's greatly appreciated ! Interesting that you should mention the cropping because I had second thoughts about it after I published, I now feel that it is a little tight and crowded and if I ever do a new version I would probably leave some more space.
Thank you, I have never tried Eventing but I'm sure it's great fun! I love shooting it, yesterday however I had some problems with getting my shots in focus. I'm not sure but I think it could be that - since the jumps weren't so high - the riders came with high speed and I failed to get my camera to grab them with the auto focus. If the jumps are higher the riders has to slow down and my auto focus grabs them just before the jump.
